Love '71, though I must say I am partial to summer and fall over spring. And yet, still, this is a quality show. As the bcol mentions, this makes for a good companion piece to Skull and Roses, a sort of prelude, actually. Also, as CTCreek notes, this is the original five-man Grateful Dead in full-effect. But it's definitely a band in transition. Lots of new songs, to be sure, and some fading old ones. The Rub here is featured on the 30 trips definitive live story and Pig Pen is in fine form, throughout. He's prominent on vocals, both lead and backing, of course on harmonica and his Hammond. There's an early show Big Boss Man and a late show, 14-minute Caution. Check him out, too, on Wharf Rat. Good stuff. That said, this audio has a lot of cuts and drops. This show features the only Caution of '71, which then segues into the final Feedback.

This is a quality recording and a tight performance. A true twin to the Skull and Roses discs. Give it a good listen.

Great sound! Good tight 5 man original band. Pig plays organ pretty good when he wants. I love the 71 shoot em up saloon band.

There are good shows with good sound and set list's then there are those that we all have come to love for both reasons. Then there is this night and this SOUND yes cap's because this show has a much improved truly amazing sound to it.
set list is a proven winner with the sound improvement it only makes this show one of the best sounding if not the best sounding on this tour. To me that is, and seeing as we have Betty boards from this year you my friend did an unbelievable job improving this one.
Lastly Not Fade Away / Going Down The Road Caution. Dream come true set list. Way more then 5 stars but we can't rate anymore then 5. Thank you for your time on this one wowieeeeeeeeee
